Biography

Born in 1977, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Cumhuriyet University. He has been pursuing his academic work at Gebze Technical University for over twenty years.

Between 2014 and 2022 he held a range of posts at the same university, including Secretary General, member of the University Executive Board, member of the Senate, member of the Faculty Board, Technology Transfer Office Coordinator, member of the TTO Board and General Manager.

A member of the Board of Trustees of the Gebze Foundation for Technical Education and Research, he has also served on the foundation's Executive Board and as Director of its commercial enterprise.

He has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

In 2023 he took up the post of Academy Director at ASELSAN, and he also serves on the Board of TR Eğitim, an ASELSAN subsidiary.

Since 2019 he has taken part in KADEM's "Women in Innovation" programme as a mentor and reviewer.

On 7 October 2024 he was appointed General Manager of Teknopark İstanbul.

He is married with two children.
